NRA Vision, Goals and Values

NRA's role is to help facilitate solutions through leadership, and coordination to regional issues that cross DHB boundaries. The NRA’s vision, goals and values underpin statutory and regional accountability documents, and guide organisational development work to ensure a fully fit-for-purpose service.

The NRA will support DHBs to be leaders in developing healthcare systems that deliver improved health outcomes, whilst assisting the Northern Region to live within its means

Key Goals

  • Lead and support regional collaboration and regional initiatives
  • Build and ensure the effective functioning of clinical networks and regional services
  • Further develop clinical and workforce capability aligned with changing models of care
  • Continue to provide and develop an effective regional workforce operations service
  • Provide high quality decision support services
  • Provide economies of scope and scale in contracting, monitoring and auditing health services provisions
  • Maintain core capability, build and maintain the confidence of stakeholders

Value Propositions

  • Focus work agenda on areas that will deliver the greatest gain by working regionally
  • Adopt a whole of system approach to planning, decision making and service delivery
  • Build strong, effective partnerships and working arrangements with DHB staff in conjunction with primary care, NGOs and private providers, to support clinical integration at all levels of service delivery
  • Challenge current service delivery paradigms to ensure that we use our scarce resource base (both workforce and assets) across the whole system as effectively as possible
