Auckland Regional Community-Referred Laboratory Services KPIs
Laboratory services in the Auckland region are provided by several providers. Each of the DHBs has its own hospital laboratory that predominantly provides laboratory services to clinicians working in each of the hospitals. There are two providers of laboratory services for clinicians working in general practice, private practice, private hospitals and other settings in the community.

There are also 2 community laboratory service providers in the Metro Auckland Region:
- Lab Tests Auckland (LTA)
- Anatomic Pathology Services (APS), Mt Wellington
Labtests Auckland provides all clinical pathology services for tests referred by specialists, GPs and midwives working in the community. It also provides clinical pathology testing for resthomes and for tests requested by your DHB clinician when you are seen as an outpatient. Labtests Auckland operates all collection centres in the metro Auckland region and provides home visits. Since October 2014, Anatomic Pathology Services (APS), Mt Wellington has provided all community referred histology and cytology services for the metro Auckland region. For more information refer Anatomic Pathology Service (APS)
Both providers are committed to providing quality laboratory services to the people of the Auckland region, and as part of this commitment have agreed to provide regular information about their performance to the public.
Below you will find monthly Key Performance Indicator reports for both providers, from 1 January 2015. KPIs for community referred services have been recorded since 2009 and are available on request.
