Smokefree
Smokefree
Kia ora and welcome to the Smokefree Resource Site
The NRA Mental Health & Addiction NGO Services Smokefree Project aims to reduce the consumption and prevalence of tobacco use amongst Mental Health & Addictions NGO service users and staff in the Northern Region.
The best thing that you can do for the health of those who smoke is to advise them to become smokefree and provide them support to quit. This site gives you the resources and information to help people become smokefree. It also includes resources to help your organisation support smokefree lifestyles, such as policy or organisational guidelines.
If you, yourself, are wanting to talk to someone about the options for becoming smokefree you can contact:
- The Quitline (external link) ph 0800 778 778 or click here (external link) for more information
- Ask someone from your GP practice, or any other health service you might visit, and if they can help you or direct you to someone who can
Contribution to these resources has been made by many District Health Boards, PHOs and non-government organisations, and their generosity in sharing their knowledge and resources is much appreciated.
