Northern Region Community-Referred Laboratory Services KPIs
Laboratory services in the Northern region are provided by several providers. Each of the DHBs has its own hospital laboratory that predominantly provides laboratory services to clinicians working in each of the hospitals. There are three providers of laboratory services for clinicians working in general practice, private practice, private hospitals and other settings in the community.

There are 3 community laboratory service providers in the Northern Region:
- Northland Pathology (NPL)
- Labtests Auckland (LTA)
- Anatomic Pathology Services( APS)
Northland Pathology and Labtests Auckland provide all clinical pathology services for tests referred by specialists, GPs and midwives working in the community. They also provide clinical pathology testing for rest homes and for tests requested by your DHB clinician when you are seen as an outpatient. Since October 2014, Anatomic Pathology Services (APS)has provided all community referred histology and cytology services for the metro Auckland region. For more information refer Anatomic Pathology Service (APS)
All providers are committed to providing quality laboratory services to the people of the Northern region, and as part of this commitment have agreed to provide regular information about their performance to the public.
Below you will find monthly Key Performance Indicator reports for the aforementioned providers. KPIs for community referred services have been recorded since 2009 and are available on request.
